Evaluation of the impact of a graduate employment project that helps students access creative, digital and technology jobs in Greater Manchester.
Research summary
2019 to 2021
This research evaluated a project funded by the Office for Students (OFS) Challenge Competition.
The project sought to help students to develop for careers in the creative, digital and technology sectors in Greater Manchester. It also aimed to enhance students’ digital skills and employability more generally.
The project is run by the careers services at Manchester Met and The University of Manchester. It involved a range of interventions designed to develop student skills and experiences, and aims to improve student access to digital roles and industries.
In our evaluative research, we conducted interviews and focus groups with students and other project stakeholders and partners to assess the impact of the project. We also drew upon quantitative data collected by the project delivery teams.
We also conducted a review of the topic in relevant professional and academic literature, and created some original analysis of patterns into graduate employment in the technology and creative digital sectors in Greater Manchester.
